Deep, dark ruby-red color that holds right to the rim. The nose shows intense jammy black & red fruit with dusty & spicy notes. Fruit on the palate is of a redcurrant nature with coffee notes. The fruit is perhaps a touch baked. There are fine tannins, but the mid palate is quite flat, perhaps lacking a little acid & overlaid by plentiful new oak. Alcohol is balanced but the finish is only of mid-length.
