It appears a little darker than the classic representatives of the Chianti Classico, but Fonterutoli does not just run after fashion, rather the Classico des Castello is a wonderful interpretation of the new style. Its freshness shows that it comes from the somewhat cooler hills of Tuscany and that it has a heart from Sangiovese. In addition, the old classics Malvasia Nera and Canaiolo can be found in this wine, plus a little Merlot and the wine is rounded off.
